Barring no unforeseen complications, Daddy will be released from the hospital tomorrow. Thank you all so very much for your prayers and concern. He is weary and weak, as is to be expected following an illness. He has been on three broad-spectrum antibiotics. If you've ever been on heavy duty antibiotics, you know they are both a blessing and a curse. He has C.O.P.D. with severe emphysema, chronic bronchitis and asthma, so pneumonia is a life threatening situation for him.
He seems a bit depressed to me and the doctor, as well. She thinks perhaps he is just tired of fighting, both the disease and the loneliness after having lived without Momma for the past three years. As you are aware, mental and emotional well being are vital to physical health. After having lost Terry, I understand so much better the loneliness. Were I his age and had his health problems, I would be tired and depressed too. These are difficult days for him; please continue to pray for him.

Glad to read the update, but I'm sorry he's feeling down. I can understand his weariness since I have elderly relatives with various health problems that feel that way when they have another illness added to their plate. Hope and pray he gets along ok.
Oh, bless his heart. He looks so sweet...like someone I'd just enjoy sitting down to talk to. :) I know you must be weary as well, Diane, so take good care of yourself.
Hey Diane!
I sure hope that your dad feels better once he gets in the comfort of his home. I'm sure that will make him feel much better.
We just found out that my Granny is going to have to have surgery on her right cartoid artery sometime soon. She is 86 and healthier than all of her children. I'm not looking forward to her having surgery.
Hugs,
Angela
Diane, I hope he is better enough to come home. Does he live by himself? Do you live very far from him ?
he has the same exact things my husband suffered with...
Only God knows how they struggle to breathe sometimes, My dear husband could not walk from the living room across the floor to the kitchen to get a drink the last few weeks before he died.
i pray for your daddy to get strength in his lings.. do they tell him how much use of his lungs he has left. ?
Take care of your self when you cam .
Prayers and sending caring thought your way.

Praying for Van and you. We are so glad he is feeling better physically, he has just not been himself since the loss of Aunt Thelma, so many years together, so
very difficult on the heart when there was so much love that they shared. I know he misses her so very much.
He is such a precious, sweet man always kind and caring. I pray God will bring him peace and comfort and I pray for you Diane as you help to take care of him. You
are a wonderful daughter. God bless you both, love you !
dear diane...i would think that it would be an almost impossible bridge for him to cross. he misses your momma so much. he was such a help to you when terry left for home and now you will be a help to him...i am sure of it dearest diane!

Dear Diane,
I will be praying for your Daddy. How lonely he must be. Yes, I too understand that feeling of having nothing and no one to live for. The children are there, but to lose the love of your life... there are no words to describe this pain. I understand this very well.
I pray that you will be a big encouragement to him.
You can continue to "speak life" to him, verbally. Tell him these words, "I speak life to you, I break the power of the depression over you, and I come against the spirit of infirmity, and I release the resurrection life and resurrection power of the Lord Jesus Christ to you, in Jesus Name."
I will pray for you and for your Dad, Diane.
Be blessed! Be encouraged!
I'm sure that this has been difficult for you and I would think there were times that you told God that you can't lose your dad so close after losing terry. I'm glad he's on the mend and will be coming home. What a blessing you are to him!
Dave's Mom passed away in August of 2006. We all used to think his dad would go first because he has emphysema. Kathy battled breast cancer, cervical cancer, a stroke and then finally Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma which is what took her life. The stroke when it happened, made us rethink that maybe she would go first and she did.
Bill's emphysema is getting worse as is to be expected. He turns 83 in July and we are wondering how much longer he'll be with us. I am pretty sure he's depressed at his quality of life and probably the loneliness.
The sad thing is that he's reaping what he's sown. My in-laws never cultivated other friendships and kept to themselves. He's been mad at God since he was 18 years old when his mother died of cancer, while he was in the Army. He has rejected God and will cut you off if you begin talking about "religion". Dave was not brought up in the church and Bill has no support or friendships from other Believers. He's an angry, bitter, self-absorbed and unpleasant old man. As a result, he sits in that house all alone but barking orders at people, when they come to visit him.
Yes, it is sad and I think he is terrified to die. He has no peace, no security, no hope. I know it has to break God's heart because it doesn't have to be that way! Bill's free will choice, at this point in his life will leave him with a Christ-less eternity.
Optomist that I am however, I would like to believe that that is why he's still here. God is having him tarry here in this earthly life so he will have an opportunity to remedy that situation.
Get some rest dear, I'll bet you're tired and worn out with all of this uncertainty!
HUGS,
Connie
I'm so glad to hear your Daddy is recovering from his illness. You will both remain in my prayers.
Dear Diane...I am sure this is a bittersweet time. It is good that your Daddy is on the mend. Yet, knowing the loneliness he is going through, has got to be so hard on you. I pray for you both.

Having been through pneumonia recently myself I can understand how weak and depressed he's feeling plus the lonliness for your mother compounds it.
Take care of your self as you are ministering love and care on your precious Dady.
Continued prayers for your daddy. He looks so sweet. Maybe he will feel better just to get back home and away from that hospital.
Keeping you and your dad in my prayers...
