Frustrated, But Content!!!

Does this photo cause angst in your chest? Do you know the frustrations of computer meltdowns? If so, then you understand how I feel at this moment!

I am sorry to say that my Saturday posts on the Twelve Characteristics of A Contented Life are temporarily, and perhaps permanently, interrupted. All due to a hard drive crash on my laptop. I had all my blog graphic images stored on the laptop. The hard drive crashed while I was trying to download the new Internet Explorer 8 from Microsoft. I'm still not sure just what happened; all I know is it fried the brains of my laptop!

I was able to restore the drive to it's factory settings, but lost everything stored on the drive. I wasn't too upset. I have been diligent to perform backups through the Dell DataSafe Online service. So, once the drive was restored, I figured it would be no problem to simply access my DataSafe account the restore my files. WRONG!!!

I have been on the telephone, in online chats, communicated via email.....I've tried everything but carrier pigeons to get this issue resolved. NOTHING! My DataSafe account will not allow me access and, so far at least, no one with Dell has been able to get me in there either! ARGH!!!

So, I am EXTREMELY frustrated. However, I learned this particular lesson many years ago. It's all just 'the small stuff'. If I never see those files again, it's not worth my joy. While I am frustrated because I thought I was doing everything right THIS TIME, I haven't wasted time mourning my files. Que Sera Sera---Whatever will be , will be!

Paul said "...for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content". Philippians 4:11b (KJV) That sounds good to me! I'll take that! So, no USUAL contentment post today, but it seems THAT has worked out okay too, don't ya think?!

Have a great weekend!!!!

"But Godliness with contentment is great gain."
I Timothy 6:6 (NIV)

But like you said , "its a small thing " .I hope Dell will come up with something or change the way they can access stored files...

I am in complete understanding. My computer is doing some freaky thing where it decided to open websites when it wants too. I never know if I can see my blog or anyone elses, or leave comments.
Very frustrating!
But you are right, in life it is really just small potatoes!
Hugs,
Pam

(((Hugs))) Diane, I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your computer. I'm always worried when it comes time to update things like Internet Explorer.

I hope things work out & that Dell can get you access to your saved files.

I am so sorry. I think it would be horrible to have that happpen. I thought I had lost all my pictures and it almost made me nuts. I finally found that folder had moved into another folder. I found my pictures, but I still don't know how it happened.
