Take Me Back Tuesday

It's time once again for Take Me Back Tuesday.

There you will also find the links to others who are participating in this week's meme.

My submission for this week is a picture of my 'grands'.....grand-nephew and grand-nieces, that is! And, believe you me, they are GRAND!!!!

Jaden, Alix and Allyson
My GRANDS!!!
October, 2007

This picture was taken in October, 2007. Jaden is five, Alix is 7 and Allyson is 8 months. Jaden and Alix are the children of my niece and nephew-in-love, Katie and Brian, and Allyson is the daughter of my nephew, Jared, and a young woman whom I also love dearly Misty. Allyson has an older half-brother, Braden.

Jaden and Alix are CRAZY about Allyson! They live so far apart and rarely get to spend time together, but when they do, the older kids can't get enough of Allyson! Alix wants so much to 'mother' her, but Allyson prefers Jaden because she is accustomed to having a boy around. Both kids love watching after her. I don't know that I've ever heard either of them complain when asked to help watch her.

Let me share a precious story with you about Alix and Allyson. During Christmas, 2008, Alix wanted so badly to be able to bring Allyson all kinds of toys for Christmas. However, their family finances were tight and, although they brought a gift for Allyson, they couldn't afford a lot.

Allyson LOVES kitty kats; I mean she LOVES them! Her Nanny and Pappy (that would be my sister Charlotte and my brother-in-love Ricky) have several and therefore Allyson thinks EVERYONE should have! Alix went through her 'gently used' things and picked out presents for Allyson to bring to Tennessee for Christmas.

She picked a little tote with KITTY KATS on it and chose things that would have filled it from her favorite toys! When our whole family gathered for our Christmas, my BIL told us the story and, of course, everyone cried. Is that not just one of the sweetest little things you have ever heard? A child of eight who will go through her things and pick out her MOST FAVORITE, wrap them with all the love and tenderness she can muster and bring them all the way to Tennessee for her little cousin, whom she has barely met!

I know I am highly prejudiced here, but honestly, I do think that is a sweet story! These kids are the light of my life. All I need do is think of them, and I smile. Of course, they joined the ranks of my niece and nephews in that respect! Since Terry and I never had children, the children of my sisters were like our own. I may never have grandchildren, but I have GRANDS!!!!!

This is a very random comment, so please take it as such - - -

When your blog addy comes up at the top of my page in the URL bar, all the letters are lower case with no way to QUICKLY at a GLANCE distinguish the WORDS - - - and I always see SEX first - - - just sayin'

And I'm pretty sure that says more about me and MY personality than you and yours.

Hehehehehehehehehehe

I am not surprised to hear that story - I would expect nothing less from a person related to you. After reading more and more of your blog I realize that you are such a wonderful and caring person. I love the in-love instead of in-law term. You are so special - and those kids are adorable - I love the pose especially.

Thanks again for participating.

On another note - please know you will be in my thoughts and heart this 14th. I hope your thoughts will be of the wonderful memories you have and I know he will be there with you. How could he stay away?

They are so sweet. I always enjoy hearing stories about children willing to share their precious things--especially when so stories are told about 'bad' children.

I just had to peek in and see where you would go back to - this Tuesday. the kids are so cute and your memories that you have and are also making for them is a spceial gift. I think all Children should have extra relations to love and brag on them-
just go to bed as Meme is tired and remember I am always in the mood to hear one of your stories- so tell all......when ever.
